Topic: Ragging in any form should be prohibited inside and outside educational institutions
On 5th September 2011, Teachers Day was celebrated by a number of students of Gupta College of Technological Sciences participated in a lively discussion on anti ragging.
The program was conducted by Dr. R.R. Dutta.
The judges present were Sri Biswajit Datta SDM, Sri Alok Chowdhury eminent Journalist, Chairman Sri Debesh Chandra Majumdar, Registrar Dr Jyotirmoy Lahiri, Principal Prof (Dr) Kalyan Kumar Sen, Prof (Dr) S.K.Basu, Secretary CA Debasish Banerjee.
Students in favor had strongly put forward the menace of ragging highlighting the physical and mental torture junior students are subjected to and recommended that ragging in any form should be strongly opposed and stopped by the students, faculties and administrative staffs.
Students against the motion had placed their views by highlighting the positive aspect of ragging which should be restricted to only knowing each other and the benefit of ragging.
Students and audience enjoyed the lively discussion applauding the participants and the judges were in praise of the quality and depth of discussion.
