The original GCTS Vision and Mission emphasise open-minded enquiry, independent judgement, lifelong learning and meaningful interaction between teachers and students. The wording below preserves those ideas in a clearer contemporary form.

GCTS grew from the educational objectives of Trinity Trust and subsequently developed undergraduate and postgraduate pharmaceutical programmes in Asansol.
The historical GCTS page records the establishment of Trinity Trust in August 1999 by Mr. Amalendu Gupta, Mrs. Anubha Gupta and Mr. Debesh Chandra Majumder.
The Pharmacy Council of India institutional information available through GCTS lists the year of establishment of Gupta College of Technological Sciences as 2000.
The same institutional record lists B.Pharm as starting from the 2000–2001 academic session.
Postgraduate education expanded with M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics.
